Maharaja Sayaji Rao University

Named after Maharaja Sayajirao Gaekwad III, the former ruler of Vadodara, Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda (MSU), is one of the most premier universities of India and possibly the largest universities in the city of Baroda in Gujarat, India. MSU is a renowned institution throughout Asia known for the Faculty of Arts & Fine Arts, for producing the best engineers and managers and also for research activities in the areas of Biochemistry, Microbiology & Biotechnology. Erstwhile, the Baroda College of Science, the institute was bestowed the status of a university in 1949. A member of the AIU, MSU is also one of the recognized universities as per the UGC act. The university offers the following courses:
Under Graduate Courses: B.A in English, sociology, history, economics, political science, library and information science, law, philosophy, BBA, BCA, B.Com, B.Sc, B.Ed and MBBS.
Post Graduate Courses: M.A in English, sociology, history, economics, political science, library and information science, law, philosophy, MBA, MCA, M.Com, M.Sc and M.Ed.
PhD Courses: PhD in archaeology, English, sociology, history, economics, political science, library and information science, and philosophy. 
Diploma Courses: Diploma in applied science, biotechnology, computer application, allied languages, electrical, mechanical, civil engineering, music, child health care and the like.
The main object of establishing the Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda was, therefore, to provide a distinct type of University-a teaching and residential University which should have complete freedom in all academic matters
